Dear Parents of 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Students:
Beginning next Monday March 7th, your child will be taking the PARCC Assessment. The test stands for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers and is based on assessing a student’s knowledge and understanding of the Common Core State Standards. Students in grade three will begin testing each morning at 9:00 AM and take one test per day for seven days. Students in grades four and five will test each afternoon beginning at 1:00 and take one test per day for seven days. We will conclude with building wide testing on March 15th. Students who have been absent will continue with makeup testing until all is completed. King uses computer based testing. Please help us in preparing your child for the tests by: having them receive a good night’s sleep, being on time and present each day for school, and encouraging them to do their best. Students also work best with a good source of nourishment each day. King provides a free breakfast every morning from 8-8:30 in the gym.
If you would like further information on the PARCC please visit this website:

Thank you for your help!
